Troubleshooting
Issue:
TrackMan IO stays in sleep mode (slow pulsing green light) and does not “wake up” when TPS attempts to connect.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
1. Confirm the IO Is in Sleep Mode
- Slow pulsing green light = IO is asleep
- Solid green light = IO is awake and connected
2. Restart TPS
- Close TrackMan Performance Studio (TPS) completely.
- Reopen TPS and try clicking TrackMan → Calibrate again.
3. Restart the Computer
- Shut down the computer fully (not restart).
- Power it back on.
- Re-launch TPS and attempt connection again.
4. Manually Wake Up TrackMan IO – THIS SHOULD ONLY BE DONE BY ELEVATE OR APEX STAFF!
(only if steps above fail)
- Carefully use the step ladder provided.
- Locate the green power button on the TrackMan IO unit (overhead).
- Gently press the button once.
- Wait for the light to turn solid green.
- Return to TPS → Click TrackMan → Calibrate.
Important Notes
- Be gentle when touching the overhead IO unit.
- Only press the green button — do not adjust or move the device.
Issue:
TrackMan 4 loses connection during practice or play and shows a “TrackMan has become disconnected” message.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
1. Bring Up the Windows Taskbar
- Press the Windows key on the keyboard to reveal the taskbar.
2. Open the Wi-Fi Menu
- On the bottom-right side of the screen, click the Wi-Fi / Globe / Network icon.
3. Reconnect to the TrackMan 4 Network
- In the list of available networks, select: TM4 2449-4075 (NOT the one that ends in “fast”).
- Click Connect.
- Return to TPS — the radar should now reconnect automatically.
Important Notes
- This issue occurs when the TrackMan 4 temporarily drops Wi-Fi.
- If reconnecting does not fix the issue, restart TPS.
Follow these steps to connect the provided camera to the TrackMan 4 bay and view video inside TrackMan Performance Studio (TPS).
You can watch us walk through how to do it on Video by clicking here!
1. Before You Start
- Make sure the TrackMan 4 radar is powered on and fully calibrated before you try to connect the camera.
2. Unlock the Camera Phone
- Use the blue iPhone provided at the bay.
- Passcode: 123456
3. Connect to TrackMan Wi-Fi
- Open the Settings app on the iPhone.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Make sure you’re connected to the TrackMan Wi-Fi network (the same one the radar uses).
- If it’s not connected, tap the correct TrackMan network to join it.
4. Open the TrackMan Camera App
- Go back to the home screen.
- Open the TrackMan Camera app (it’s on the bottom dock).
- The app will usually show “Searching for TrackMan” at the top.
5. Confirm the Camera is Connected
- If you see the TrackMan unit listed at the top of the app instead of “Searching,” that means it has already found the radar.
- In that case, simply cancel the search (if prompted) and select/connect to the TrackMan shown at the top.
- Once the live grid view appears, the camera is connected to the TrackMan 4.
6. Check Camera Settings (Optional but Recommended)
- In the TrackMan Camera app, tap the settings/gear icon in the top-right corner.
- High Quality:
- Turn this on if you want clearer video.
- Note: High quality video can take longer to load in TPS.
- Frames Per Second (FPS):
- Set this to 240 fps for the best slow-motion quality.
- If it’s on 120 fps, change it to 240.
7. Show the Camera in TrackMan Performance Studio (TPS)
Now that the camera is connected, you need to display it inside TPS.
- On the projector screen in the TrackMan 4 bay, go into Shot Analysis (or your usual practice screen).
- You’ll see the screen laid out in tiles (for example: Numbers, Dispersion, etc.).
- In the top-right corner of each tile, there is an icon with four small squares/dots.
- To change what a tile shows:
- Click the four-squares icon in the tile you want to change.
- From the list of options, select “Video 1.”
- Video 1 is the camera you just connected to the TrackMan 4.
- If you want to rearrange your layout (for example, one tile with Numbers, one with Dispersion, one with Video):
- Use the four-squares icon on each tile.
- Choose Video 1 on whichever tile you want to show the camera feed.
Once you’ve done this, your TrackMan 4 bay will be fully set up with
Issue:
The TrackMan 4 computer has no internet, even though the TrackMan Wi-Fi is fine.
This affects YouTube, updates, course loading, and general connectivity.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
1. Check the Ethernet Cable at the PC
- Locate the Ethernet cable plugged into the back of the TrackMan 4 computer.
- Unplug it.
- Plug it back in firmly until it clicks.
2. Check Connection at the Main Network Switch
- Go to the storage closet where the main switch is installed.
- Find the cable labeled for the TrackMan 4 PC (or the cable in the same port).
- Unplug the Ethernet cable from the switch.
- Plug it back in securely.
3. Test Internet
- On the TrackMan 4 PC, open a browser and refresh a webpage.
- If internet is restored, return to TPS.
Important Notes
- The TrackMan 4 bay uses a hardwired internet connection — not Wi-Fi.
- This issue typically happens if the cable is loose or the switch hiccups.

🔹 1. Drawing Lines, Circles & Reference Markers
These tools help you evaluate body movement, angles, and positions during your swing.
Left-Side Menu Tools
- Straight Lines – draw spine angles, swing planes, shoulder tilt, etc.
- Circles – great for tracking head movement.
- Angle Tool – place angle measurements (horizontal or angled) to show tilt or reference positions.
- Paint Can Icon – change line colors.
Removing Lines
- Undo Arrow – removes lines in reverse order.
- Trash Can – clears all lines at once.
🔹 2. Using TrackMan AI Tools (Dynamic & Static Lines)
Click the diamond icon at the top to access AI tools.
AI Categories to Focus On
Under “Video AI,” the most useful tools are:
- Shoulder Line (Static & Dynamic)
- Hip Line (Static & Dynamic)
- Head Circle
Static = stays in one place
Dynamic = follows the player during the swing
Important Tip
Make sure the three stars (auto-apply toggle) are orange — this ensures your AI lines automatically appear after each shot.
🔹 3. Navigating Swing Positions
Use the orange scrub bar at the bottom of the screen to move through the swing manually.
You can also click the diamond-shaped markers to jump to:
- Quarterback
- Halfway Back
- Top of Backswing
- Downswing
- Impact
🔹 4. Switching to Down-the-Line View
When switching angles, previously applied AI tools will carry over.
To remove them:
- Click the diamond icon
- Uncheck the tools you no longer want
- Click Apply
🔹 5. Creating the “Cone” (Shoulder Plane + Shaft Plane)
The cone helps measure whether your hands and club stay “in the window” during the swing.
To add the cone:
- Click the diamond icon
- Scroll down to Static Positions
- Check:
- Shoulder Plane
- Shaft Plane
- Click Apply
Note:
Everyone’s cone size/shape is different — this is normal and not “good or bad”.
🔹 6. Additional Drawing Tools (Down the Line)
Just like face-on, you can:
- Draw lines
- Draw circles
- Add angles using the left-hand menu.
🔹 7. Best Practice Tips
- Always start with clear face-on and down-the-line angles.
- Use dynamic shoulder/hip lines if evaluating sway or slide.
- Use static lines and circles if checking posture, pressure shift, or head movement.
- Keep layouts clean — too many lines makes analysis harder.
- Undo or trash tools frequently during evaluation.
