Junior Golf Windsor • Two Ways to Develop

Junior Programs or Private Coaching?

Both can help a junior golfer improve. The difference is primarily the development environment. Group programs provide structured, broad-based development alongside other juniors, while private coaching allows the session to be built around one player’s specific skills, tendencies and priorities.

Structured Group Development

Junior Programs

Elevate’s winter programs give juniors a structured environment to develop golf skills, athletic foundations and better practice habits while learning and training alongside other junior golfers.

  • Small-group coaching with Winter Semester 1 programs capped at four or six juniors.
  • Age-appropriate development creates an environment that matches the stage of the junior rather than treating every golfer the same.
  • Broad skill development builds different areas of the game through purposeful training rather than focusing on only one priority.
  • Games, challenges and athletic development create opportunities to explore skills, solve problems and learn in different ways.
  • Practice habits and independence become a bigger part of the pathway as juniors progress through IGNITE, LAUNCH and the High School environment.
  • Additional development opportunities include Match Days within IGNITE and LAUNCH programs and independent practice time within LAUNCH: High School.
Programs can be a great fit when… You want your junior developing a broad base of skills in a structured, social environment with other golfers at a similar stage of development.
Individualized Development

Private Junior Coaching

Private coaching gives the coach and player dedicated time to identify what that individual golfer needs most and build the session around those priorities.

  • Individual attention allows the entire session to be built around one junior golfer.
  • Specific skill development can target the areas that will have the greatest impact for that player.
  • Player-specific feedback can address technique, tendencies, practice and individual goals.
  • Experienced juniors can work at a level that reflects their current ability rather than simply their age.
  • Brand-new golfers are welcome too. A junior does not need previous experience to begin with private coaching.
  • Flexible scheduling can make private coaching a good option when a group-program schedule does not fit.
Private coaching can be a great fit when… Your junior needs more individualized attention, has specific skills to develop, is progressing differently than their age group, or your family needs greater scheduling flexibility.
01

Beginners Can Choose Either

New golfers can begin in a junior program or through private coaching. There is no requirement to start with one before moving to the other.

02

Age Doesn’t Tell the Whole Story

Two juniors of the same age can have very different experience levels and development needs. The right environment should reflect the player, not simply their age.

03

Some Juniors Benefit From Both

Group programming can provide broader development and peer interaction while private coaching addresses individual priorities. For some juniors, the two work best together.

Still Not Sure Which Environment Fits Your Junior?

Tell us a little about your junior’s age, golf experience, current goals and schedule. We can help you decide whether a winter program, private coaching or a combination of both makes the most sense. If you would rather talk it through, book a free 15-minute consultation with an Elevate coach.

More Than Individual Programs

One Pathway. Different Places to Start.

Elevate’s junior programs are designed as connected development environments rather than stand-alone clinics. A junior can enter at the stage that fits their age, experience and goals, then continue progressing as their skills, independence and commitment develop.

Winter Semester 1 creates options from a golfer’s first experiences with the game through skill development, more independent high-school training and advanced team environments.

Winter Junior Golf FAQ

Questions Parents Often Ask

Everything you need to know about Winter Semester 1 junior golf programs at Elevate Performance Golf.

Which program is right for my junior?

Age is a helpful starting point, but it is not the only factor. SPARK is designed for ages 4–6, IGNITE for ages 7–10, LAUNCH for ages 11–14 and LAUNCH: High School for ages 13–17. Girls Ignite and Girls Launch provide girls-only environments within the IGNITE and LAUNCH development stages. Experience, current skills, independence and goals also matter, so if your junior sits between programs, contact Elevate and we will help identify the best fit.

Does my junior need previous golf experience?

No previous golf experience is required for SPARK. For the other programs, the right fit depends on more than experience alone. Age, current skills, confidence, independence and goals all help determine the most appropriate environment. If you are unsure where your junior belongs, contact us before registering and we can help.

What is the difference between Girls Ignite and IGNITE?

Both are part of the same IGNITE development stage for ages 7–10. Girls Ignite provides a dedicated girls-only environment on Mondays, while IGNITE is open to boys and girls with Tuesday and Sunday session options. Both are designed to develop golf skills, confidence, practice habits and age-appropriate athletic foundations.

What is the difference between Girls Launch and LAUNCH?

Both are part of the same LAUNCH development stage for ages 11–14. Girls Launch is a girls-only group on Mondays, while LAUNCH is open to boys and girls on Tuesdays. Both focus on structured golf training, athletic development, purposeful practice, greater independence, games, challenges and Match Days.

What is LAUNCH: High School?

LAUNCH: High School is designed for golfers ages 13–17 who are ready for a more independent training environment. Winter Semester 1 includes seven 90-minute coached sessions plus three additional practice hours at Elevate. The goal is to continue building golf skills and athletic abilities while helping high-school golfers develop stronger practice habits and take greater ownership of their development.

My junior is 13 or 14. Should they choose LAUNCH or LAUNCH: High School?

Either environment may be appropriate. LAUNCH is designed for ages 11–14 and includes weekly training plus Match Day opportunities. LAUNCH: High School is designed for ages 13–17 and places greater emphasis on independence, practice habits and taking ownership of development, with longer coached sessions and additional independent practice time. If your golfer is 13 or 14 and you are unsure which environment fits best, contact Elevate and we can help make a recommendation.

What are Match Days?

Match Days give Girls Ignite, IGNITE, Girls Launch and LAUNCH golfers additional opportunities to apply what they are learning through golf challenges and a more game-like environment. Winter Semester 1 programs that include Match Days receive two optional two-hour Match Days in addition to the seven weekly training sessions, creating 11 total coaching hours for the semester.

Are Match Days required?

No. The Match Days included with Girls Ignite, IGNITE, Girls Launch and LAUNCH are optional. They are included in the program fee and provide additional opportunities for juniors to apply their skills, but missing a Match Day does not prevent a junior from participating in the weekly program.

Is athletic development part of the winter programs?

Yes. Girls Ignite, IGNITE, Girls Launch, LAUNCH and LAUNCH: High School include age-appropriate athletic development within the broader training environment. This allows juniors to develop physical abilities alongside their golf skills. SPARK focuses on fundamental movement, play and age-appropriate golf activities for ages 4–6.

Does my junior need their own golf clubs?

Juniors should have golf clubs available for their program. Golf clubs are required for SPARK. If your junior does not currently have clubs, contact Elevate before the program and we will help make arrangements.

Can my junior take private lessons in addition to a junior program?

Yes. Group programming and private coaching serve different purposes and can work very well together. Junior programs provide a structured environment for broad skill development, practice habits, games, athletic development where applicable and learning alongside other juniors. Private coaching provides more individualized work around a player’s technique, tendencies, goals and specific priorities.

Where are the Winter Semester 1 programs held?

Winter Semester 1 programming is based at Elevate Performance Golf, 4510 Rhodes Drive, Unit 930 in Windsor. Our indoor training facility provides the environment for winter coaching, skill development and practice.

How many juniors are in each program?

We intentionally keep groups small. SPARK is limited to four juniors. Girls Ignite, IGNITE, Girls Launch, LAUNCH and LAUNCH: High School are limited to six golfers per group.

Who coaches the winter junior programs?

Winter Semester 1 SPARK, Girls Ignite, Girls Launch, IGNITE, LAUNCH and LAUNCH: High School are led by Coach Emily Ward, a former NCAA Division I golfer. Elevate’s broader junior pathway also includes private coaching and advanced player-development opportunities with the Elevate coaching team.

What happens after Winter Semester 1?

Semester 1 is the first stage of Elevate’s three-semester winter development season. Semester 1 runs November–December 2026, Semester 2 runs January–February 2027 and Semester 3 runs March–April 2027. This gives juniors opportunities to continue developing throughout the indoor season before transitioning back to outdoor training and play. Specific programs and registration details for future semesters will be announced separately.

How is the Junior Performance Team different from these programs?

The Elevate Junior Performance Team is an application-based, year-round development environment for committed competitive junior golfers. It combines individual coaching, team practices, performance testing, athletic development, tournament support and ongoing coach communication. It is different from the semester-based SPARK, IGNITE and LAUNCH programming and is intended for players ready for a more comprehensive level of development and commitment.

Small groups. More coaching. Limited spaces. SPARK is capped at 4 juniors. Girls Ignite, Girls Launch, IGNITE, LAUNCH and LAUNCH: High School are capped at 6 golfers per group. If your preferred program or session is full, contact Elevate and we will help with the next best option.
